Hopes For Night-time Water Restrictions To Be Lifted Today, Boil Water Notices To Remain In Place

Uisce Éireann hopes to end night time restrictions on the Ardfinnan Regional Public Water Supply today. The restrictions were imposed over the weekend to help reservoir levels recover.

Operational issues at Ardfinnan Water Treatment Plant resulted in a lower output than usual which led to a reduction in the level of water in the main reservoir. As a result, some customers particularly those at higher elevations are experiencing low pressure and/or intermittent supply.

The night time  restrictions resulted in customers in Goatenbridge, Newcastle, Ardfinnan, Ballyhist, Ballybrado, Cranna, Kilcommon, Ballyhea, Castlegrace, Mount Anglesby and surrounding areas experiencing low pressure or intermittent outages.

The Boil Water Notice remains in effect on the Ardfinnan scheme and on three other schemes namely  the Galtee, Ballylooby/Burncourt and Thurles Public water Schemes.

Uisce Eireann is appealing to customers to conserve water and to report any leaks in the public water network by contacting Uisce Éireann 24/7 at 1800 278 278 or on water.ie.

Uisce Eireann is to confirm later today if further night-time restrictions are required for the Ardfinnan scheme.
