Uisce Eireann is reminding the public that three precautionary Boil Water Notices will come into effect at midnight tonight.
These notices affect approximately 15,150 customers supplied by Crotty’s Lake(Carrick on Suir) Glenary, and Poulavanogue Water Treatment Plants(Clonmel).
This is due to planned industrial action, arising from a dispute between the Unite Trade Union and 11 Local Authorities.
Boil water notices remain in effect on the Ardfinnan Regional Water Supply Scheme, Burncourt Regional and Burncourt Ballylooby Public Water Supplies and Galtee Regional Public Water Supply schemes due to issues with the quality of the raw water due to recent heavy rainfall.
The level of turbidity or particles in the water is affecting the water disinfection process.
Uisce Eireann says the boil water notice on the Thurles Regional Public Supply is due to inadequate chlorine residual levels in the treated water.
Customers on all 7 schemes are advised to boil their water before using it.
