Two fundraising events for the Women’s Refugee in Clonmel (Cuan Saor) and the Tipperary Rape Crisis centre are planned for Cahir this week.

The first event will take place this evening at the Cahir House Hotel and involves an auction of almost 40 pieces of donated Art – the Art works have an estimated value of €7,000.

The event will include music and poetry readings and begins with a viewing at 7pm.The second event will be held on Sunday in the Inch Field, Cahir Castle – where members of the public are invited to attend at 3pm to take part in the recreation of a dance routine associated with the Kate Bush song “Wuthering Heights” – the event is titled The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever.

This event takes place each year in various locations around the world, where participants perform the choreographed dance from Bush’s classic music video – this is the first such event in Tipperary.

The song, a major hit in 1978, is associated with fundraising for charitable causes supporting women.

Those attending are invited to wear red and pay a small fee for entry to the event. The events are being organised by the Daughters of Dun Iascaigh Group and full details are available on the Eventbrite platform  here.
