A homecoming event is to be held in Pery Square, Limerick this evening for the victorious Limerick Senior Hurling team.
The team defeated Kilkenny yesterday on a score line of 2 – 15 to 30 points to win the Senior title for the fourth year in a row.
The victory makes Limerick the third county to achieve the four in a row joining Cork(1941-44) and Kilkenny(2006-09) in the history books.
Joint Team Captains Cian Lynch and the injured Declan Hannon jointly lifted the Liam MacCarty Cup.
Team manager John Kiely, Principal at the Abbey school in Tipperary town and Team Sponsor JP McManus also raised the cup aloft in joyous scenes at Croke Park yesterday.
Peter Casey was named man of the match by RTE.
The homecoming event is an e-ticket-only event, with tickets available from Eventmaster.ie. Gates will open at 5pm with live music performances to begin from 6pm.
