Ongoing Investigation Into An Allegation Of Animal Cruelty In Thurles

Garda in Thurles say their investigation into an allegation of animal cruelty is ongoing. The incident is said to have happened during a funeral at St Patricks Cemetery on Sunday May 28th.   The investigation is also supported by personal from the National Parks and Wildlife Service and refers to allegations that a dog was released in the graveyard to chase another animal – possibly a hare or rabbit.

Inspector James White says Gardaí carried out a number of searches in connection with the investigation yesterday.  An additional search operation was carried out in the south east of the country connected to the Thurles incident. Garda say some items were seized during the searches and that these will continue to be analysed.
