SSE Renewables, a leading developer and operator of renewable energy in Ireland, has awarded more than €19,000 in funding to community groups near its Knockastanna Wind Farm on the Limerick and Tipperary border.
The funding, which was presented at Cullen Lattin AFC Tipperary on 11th July, for the 2023/2024 fund allocation has been awarded to nine community projects in the area as follows;
- -Sean Treacy GAA Club – funds to be put towards installing security lighting and resurfacing the club’s car park.
- -Bilboa National School – a contribution towards the Astra pitch project
- -Cappawhite National School – a contribution towards safety yard mats
- -Cullen Lattin AFC -funding to purchase a fertilising machine for the club.
- -Cullen Lattin Tidy Towns – funding for hanging baskets and bench
- -Curreeny Community Hall – funding towards resurfacing the hall car park.
- -Knockbrittas Foilmahonmore Residents Association – a contribution towards hedge cutting in the area.
- -Doon GAA Club – a contribution towards installing disabled car spaces for easy access to the walking track and toilet/changing room facilities.
- -Rearcross National School- a contribution towards replacing the fencing around the school’s tennis court.
