Two crews from Enerveo are working in Tipperary town today to repair a number of non-functioning street lights. The company has the contract on behalf of Tipperary County Council and has come in for criticism from Councillors for the response time when faults are reported.
The work today is aimed at reducing some of the backlog of faults in the town. In addition, the crews are tasked with restoring street lighting that was disrupted by work in Tipperary town in recent weeks on behalf of SIRO* to install broadband infrastructure. This work has seen a number of new ESB poles installed but the lighting fixtures attached have not yet been activated. Tipperary County council says it is seeking to procure new vandal proof light fixtures for the market yard in Tipperary town rather than repair the existing light fixtures.
Enerveo repairs public street lights on behalf of all local authorities and faults can be logged by the public on it’s website Enerveo.com.
