First Anniversary Mass For The Late Dillon Quirke To Be Held At Clonoulty Rossmore GAA Club

Clonoulty Rossmore GAA club are to host the First Anniversary Mass for the late Dillon Quirke. The 24-year-old hurling star died in Semple Stadium while playing with his club team on Friday August 5th last year. The Club grounds are to be known in future as the Dillon Quirke GAA Grounds and GAA President Larry McCarthy will officially open the club ground and unveil a plaque in Dillon’s memory on August 5th at 5pm. Mass in the Club Grounds will follow the unveiling ceremony.The Club says it wishes to acknowledge the support shown to Dillon’s family, the Dillon Quirke Foundation and the community since Dillon’s death and is issuing an open invitation for all to attend the ceremonies on August 5th. The Dillon Quirke Foundation is working towards raising €1M to provide screening for GAA players over the age of 12 in respect of Sudden adult death syndrome (SADS).
