Garda in Clonmel have arrested a woman after a car and occupants were observed to be acting suspiciously in the Cashel Road area. The Crime Task force in Clonmel stopped the vehicle at Heywood road. The sole occupant of the car, a woman in her early 40’s, was found to be under the influence of cocaine after a roadside DrugWipe test. Gardaí located suspected crack cocaine with an estimated street value of €14,300 along with €3,800 in cash in the car. The vehicle was seized as no Motor Tax was in place. The woman was arrested for drug driving and, having been processed under the relevant legislation, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale and supply and was subsequently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The arrest was made on June 29th.
