An Independent TD for Tipperary says people should consider boycotting the TV license amid the Tubridy secret payment scandal.
Mattie McGrath believes the public had lost trust in the national broadcaster before the Tubridy payment scandal but that it highlighted what he deemed the rot within the organisation.
Deputy McGrath who’s a member of the Media Committee says bringing in RTE management into Oireachtas committee meetings this week is a waste of time as it’s going to be a “talking shop” with no further answers given.
Deputy McGrath believes and proposed at a private meeting of the Oireachtas Media committee that Minister Catherine Martin should call a meeting with the Director General, the Board and Executive board and if they don’t resign after or before the meeting they should be fired.
