The developer seeking planning permission for a new 28-bedroom hotel in Cashel has been given a 3-month extension to submit further information requested by Tipperary County Council.
The application relates to the construction of 28 hotel bedrooms in two blocks to be one and half storeys high at Moor Lane in Cashel.
The project also proposes to provide landscaping, demolish a hay shed, create a new opening in boundary wall for emergency access and all ancillary development works the Moor Lane site.
The council requested that alternative sites or alternative designs be submitted as it is concerned about the impact the proposed project could have on the “cultural heritage of the landscape” in Cashel.
The council also sought clarification on a number of issues relating to boundary wall height and soil testing. The planning authority is additionally concerned about how the proposed development could impact on the application submitted in respect of the Rock of Cashel for UNESCO world Heritage site status.
The developers, Marymount Assets, requested an additional 3 months on June 13th.
This is now approved and if the requested documentation is not submitted by September 27th the application will be deemed to have been withdrawn.
