Thomastown Customers Without Water This Morning

Customers in Thomastown are without water this morning. The supply in the area has been intermittent in the last week and Irish Water had worked on an issue at the pumping station on Friday June 9th.

On June 2nd Uisce Eireann began using water from the Thomastown Borehole and the local Water Treatment Plant to ensure continuity of supply as there is not adequate capacity on the Galtee Regional Scheme to supply the entire local network.  An update has been sought from Uisce Eireann.

In Emly Uisce Eireann says that further work is required on a burst main. The company says it has reconfigured the supply network as a temporary solution and tankers are being used to refill the system and for the public to collect water.  Uisce Eireann says the repairs are complex due to the location of the burst, which is adjacent to a main railway line, and may take a number of days to complete.
