Athletes from Thurles and Tramore emerged as champions at the RED BULL CONQUER THE CASTLE event in Cashel on Saturday.
Stephen Flanagan from Grange, Gortnahoe and Aoife O’Sullivan from Tramore both secured the first prize of €1,000 in the male and female categories. It was a double win for Stephen Flanagan as he won the Enniskillen Red Bull Challenge on June 5th.
Darren Gayson from Cashel, finished second with third place in the men’s event going to Karl Cosgrove, from Swords, Co. Dublin. There was further Tipp success with Ciara Cummins from Thurles finishing in 2nd place in the women’s event. The third place went to Belfast runner Stephanie Penney. Over 1000 competitors took part in the event which features a 2.5km sprint race over 23 obstacles.
