Approximately 25 to 30 planned electricity outages are expected for Tipperary Town in the period to the end of June. ESB Networks says the outages will vary in scale with some involving  a few customers while others are larger and will impact  40 – 50 customers at the time. The outages relate to infrastructure improvements in the town’s Broadband Service supplied by SIRO. This company is a joint venture between ESB Networks and Vodafone.

In all cases the impacted customers will receive a hand delivered notification of the outage at least one week in advance. ESB Networks say it is not possible to provide a detailed list in advance as the works are carried out in tandem with the contractors working on behalf of SIRO.   ESB networks acknowledges the disruption but says in the longer term the town will benefit from increased access to high speed broadband. The work has in some cases involved the replacement of ESB poles and some residents report that the attached street light has not functioned since the upgrade. All light fixtures are to be reviewed following the works by the responsible contractor ENERVEO. This company repairs public street lights on behalf of all local authorities and faults can be logged on it’s website  here.
