Tipperary County Council will hold it’s monthly plenary meeting on Monday June 12th.
The Cathaoirleach Roger Kennedy has requested that the AGM at the end of June be held in Knockavilla Community Centre to mark the end of his one-year term as Cathaoirleach on June 30th.
Prior to the AGM members of the Council will attend a special Mass in Knockavilla Church(at 10.00am) to remember deceased members of Tipperary County Council.
Monday’s meeting has a busy agenda with 15 pieces of property being disposed of by Tipperary County Council.
Two properties in Tipperary town are on the list. 22 – 25 Greenane Drive will be made available to the Three Drives Family Resource Centre Ltd to enable it to continue it’s services to the community.
The 7 year lease extension is to be put before councillors for approval for a fee of €10.00 plus the council’s legal fees.
A property at 49 Carrowclough, Tipperary Town will be provided to the Brothers of Charity on a five year lease extension for a fee of €100 per annum to provide housing for persons with disabilities and related support services.
There are two motions for consideration at next Monday’s plenary meeting of Tipperary County council.
The first Motion is submitted in the name of 4 councillors, Noel Coonan, Eddie Moran, Joe Hannigan and Michael Smith.
The councillors are calling on Tipperary County Council to review its policy for small rural enterprises in the countryside contained in the County Development Plan 2022.
The Councillors say the Policy is having an adverse impact on the future of families engaged in rural enterprise.
A second motion on the Agenda is categorised as not being within the functions of Tipperary County Council and is the name of Cllr Marie Murphy.
The motion asks that Tipperary County Council would write to the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage seeking details of a government announcement of plans to issue a Temporary Time Limited Waiver in respect of Development Contributions.
The Motion welcomes the waiver of Development fees but asks that the applicable date for this waiver should be from January 1st 2023 and not March 28th as stated in the Department’s Circular.
Cllr Murphy is also asking that the motion be circulated to The Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, The Tánaiste, Micheal Martin, The Minister for Finance, Michael McGrath and The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe.
The government announced the waiving of development fees for a limited period to help boost the supply of housing.
