The 2nd Annual Ned Greene Memorial Tournament is to be held on June 10th at the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre. The soccer tournament will feature 8 teams and also include exhibition matches. The tournament will also feature a raffle as funds raised on the day will be shared with two local organisations C-Saw Mental Health Service and Tipperary town Special Olympics Club.
Mr Greene died on May 24th 2021 and was a highly qualified and respected soccer coach. Ned Greene worked with several local clubs in the area and also clubs in Limerick and Clare and left a huge legacy with the players and clubs he assisted. The Greene family supports the tournament as it gives the community an opportunity to gather, remember Ned and help others.
The organisers – Donnacha O’Grady and Paddy Fitzgerald say having access to and support from the Canon Hayes Recreation Centre makes the Tournament possible. The first match kicks off at 10am on June 10th.
