TD Martin Browne Hits Out At Lack Of Information Surrounding Proposed 60 Bed Community Nursing Unit

Tipperary TD Martin Browne has hit out at the lack of any new information about the proposed 60 bed Community Nursing Unit(CNU) in Cashel following a meeting this week between Minister Mary Butler and 4 public representatives from the county.
Deputy Browne says the same questions about the new site remain.  Neither was any information given about what impact the revised plans will have on the timeline of the project.
A statement from Tipperary TD Jackie Cahill described the meeting as positive and outlined a number of health care investments in the county – this is a diversionary tactic on the part of the Minister according to Deputy Browne to take the focus from St Patrick’s and the planned CNU.
Deputy Browne says it is disappointing that a request he made for all Oireachtas members and members of the Regional Health Forum South to work together on the matter of St Patrick’s and the CNU has been ignored by the representatives involved.
Deputy Browne rejects accusations of playing politics with the issue made by Cllr Burgess and Minister Butler and says they excluded others, indicating that for them “this is very much politics first.”
