Garda in Limerick have found a car that was stolen in Tipperary Town on Monday night. The car, a blue Toyota was hotwired and stolen from the Church Street area sometime between the hours of 11pm and midnight. The stolen vehicle was discovered in Limerick City shortly after 1am this morning. Garda are to conduct a forensic examination of the vehicle and it will then be returned to the it’s owner.
Garda in Tipperary town are leading the investigation and are appealing to anyone with information about the theft to contact Tipperary town Garda station on 062 80670.
Garda have recently issued advice to car owners to consider extra security measures for their vehicles if they do not have an inbuilt alarm and immobiliser. 4,000 vehicles were reported stolen in Ireland in 2022. This represents a 52% increase on 2021 and 17% increase on 2019 thefts.
