Plan For New 60 Bed Unit In Cashel To Be Raised With Health Minister

HSE plans to deliver a 60 Bed Community Nursing Unit at St Patrick’s Hospital, Cashel, is to be raised with the Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly in the Dáil this evening by Deputy Martin Browne.

It is one of the Topical Issues selected by the Ceann Comhairle and scheduled for discussion from 7.35 pm.

The HSE recently revealed that it now considers the site at St Patricks hospital which was earmarked for the 60 bed unit to be unsuitable. The planning application was expected to be submitted in 2019.

Deputy Browne is concerned for the delivery of the unit given the delay in submitting the planning application. The HSE says it is currently reviewing a site in Cashel and may examine others if this site is deemed unsuitable.

A public Meeting is to be held in the Spafield Resource Centre on Thursday May 4th at 7.30pm to discuss the future of St Patrick’s Hospital Cashel.
