Full Details Of Darkness Into Light Events In Co. Tipp

Several locations in county Tipperary are planning to hold Darkness into Light events this weekend to raise awareness and funds for Pieta House while Cahir is taking a different approach to supporting good mental health.  Darkness into Light 2023, is supported by Electric Ireland and takes place at sunrise on the morning of Saturday May 6th. The event will raise funds and also enable people to come together and stand in solidarity with people impacted by suicide and self-harm.

There are 8 events planned for County Tipperary on May 6^th  in addition to the event in Cahir. All are expected to commence at 4.15am approximately.

There is huge local support towards the organisers of Tipperary town Darkness into Light based at Sean Treacy Park (Arravale Rovers GAA club, E34 DK 26). Participants are asked to park at SuperValu or a council car park as parking on site is restricted to Blue Badge Holders, Volunteers and First Aid personnel. This year is the 6^th anniversary of the event in Tipperary Town.

Tipperary Credit Union has made a donation to the fund and will also host a registration day on Thursday May 4^th between 12 noon and 3pm at their offices on Emmet Street. People can also register online for their preferred location at this link here.  Inver and Tipperary Plaza will be open for breakfast from 5.30am.

The Cahir event is also a dawn walk with the donations received to be used towards a Mental Health and Suicide Awareness seminar to be held in Cahir in October.

Registration from 4.30am on Saturday May 6^th at the Tourist Office near the Castle car park. Walk begins at 5am.  Oakpark will provide a bacon roll and cup of tea at the finish.
