The Creative Places Tipperary town Project is to expand and is now seeking to recruit additional personnel. Tipperary Town is one of twelve places nationally that has been awarded a Creative Places Award from The Arts Council for a three-year developmental arts programme.
The project is now looking to recruit a Project Assistant for Tipperary Town and also to engage several experienced Artists to support project development and encourage active participation in making art and using creative processes. The project also hopes to engage a number of artists to run arts engagement workshops and to hire two artists in residence over the coming months. Two events are planned for the coming weeks to give people interested in the arts an opportunity to learn more about the project.
On April 18th an event is planned for Creative Places Activators. This will take place between 1.30 – 3pm and again at 5 – 6.30pm in the Excel Arts Centre Art Gallery (4th Floor)
This workshop is intended to help identify and connect people that would like to see more creative activities in Tipperary town.
The second event will take place on Thursday 27 April and is also offered at two time slots – 1.30 – 3pm and again at 5 – 6.30pm in the Excel Arts Centre, Art Gallery (4th Floor). This event is aimed at artists – all art forms included – that are interested in getting involved in the project.
The project co-coordinator Leisa Gray, can be contacted by emailing [email protected] while full details are available on the Tipperary Revitalisation website here or the Creative Places Tipperary town Facebook page.
Closing dates apply for some of the roles mentioned above, 4pm on May 3rd for the Project Assistant role and 4pm on May 8th for the Artist in Residence Positions and the Public Programming Artists positions.
The project is being led by Youth Work Ireland Tipperary, a registered charity and voluntary youth work organisation, in partnership with a range of other organisations that make up Tipperary Town Revitalisation Task Force.
