Garda in Clonmel have revealed that a man is to face court charges in respect of animal welfare offences.
Gardaí in Clonmel conducted a joint-agency search operation with personnel from Revenue Customs Service, the ISPCA and the Irish Defence Forces last December in at a Halting site in Clonmel.
Fifteen dogs and three horses were rescued by the ISPCA at the time.
Following investigation by Clonmel Gardaí and the ISCPA a file was submitted to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
A male has since been arrested and charged with 9 offences contrary to the Animal Health and Welfare Act 2013 including failure to protect welfare and cruelty.
He has been released on bail to attend a future sitting of Clonmel District Court.
During the course of the December search, Gardaí also seized suspected drugs and three caravans which are believed to have been stolen.
