Deputy Michael Lowry is welcoming confirmation that approval has been granted for a new ASD Classroom for Gaelscoil in Carrick in Suir.
The class is currently planned to open for the 2023/2024 school year.
The school has received the relevant authorisation letters from the National Council for Special Education and enrolments are now being accepted as per Department of Education criteria and guidelines.
There are currently 106 Special Classes provided across the county.
Seventy one are at Primary level and thirty five are at Post-Primary level.
Over the last three years, 21 new Special Classes at primary and 11 new Special Classes at Post-Primary have been provided in county Tipperary.
