Forty-one applications for funding under the Streetscape Enhancement Scheme in Tipperary Town have been approved by the Tipperary Cahir Cashel Municipal District. Some property owners have commenced work on improving the appearance of the building. The scheme is a once off and the attached funding of €100,000 will be allocated to another Tipperary town for this year. The funding covers visual improvements to their properties including painting, installation of canopies, restoration of historic shopfronts etc. The supports are targeted at properties on the Main Street and Bank Place area of Tipperary town and the maximum grant available was €8,000. A total of 45 applications were received. Approved applicants are required to have all works completed and grants claimed from Tipperary County Council by 31st July 2023.
