Garda have confirmed that a woman died in a house fire in Tipperary town yesterday.
The single storey house is situated in Pearse Park. The woman has been named as Patsy O’Donnell – Ms O’Donnell was 74.
Neighbours made valiant efforts to rescue the woman before the Fire Services arrived.
Her body has been removed to University Hospital Waterford where a post mortem examination will take place in due course.
The scene of the fire was preserved for technical examination and enquiries are ongoing but there is no indication of foul play in relation to the cause of the fire.
Ms O’Donnell is predeceased by her partner Noel Goodall who operated a business on O’Brien Street, Tipperary.
