Information Clinic For Early Payment Scheme Opens For Tipperary Rate Payers

Tipperary Rate Payers are to be invited to a series of information clinics in respect of the Early Payment Scheme which offers a potential 6% discount subject to a maximum of €600.   The Early Payment Scheme for 2023 applies to all ratepayers with an annual rates bill of up to €26,000.  To avail of the Early Payment Reduction of 6% payment of rates must be made in full, by 31st July 2023. Customers paying by Direct Debit can avail of the scheme if payment is made by September 2023. The scheme is open to customers with arrears on their accounts in certain circumstances.

The first information clinic for ratepayers is on Monday February 20th in the Municipal District Office, Rosanna Street, Tipperary Town and will run between 10.00am and 12.00noon.  

On Tuesday February 21st there will be a clinic in the Thurles MD office on Castle Avenue again available between 10am and 12 noon.  A clinic on the early payment scheme will be held in the Nenagh Civic offices on Wednesday February 22nd also between 10am and noon. Carrick on Suir council offices will host a clinic on Thursday February 23rd between 10am and noon.  The final information clinic is set for Clonmel  Council offices for Friday February 24th and will run between 11am and 1pm.  Councillors agreed to increase rates by 5% for 2023 but expanded the number of ratepayers that could be eligible for the Early Payment Scheme discount in a bid to protect smaller operators from additional financial pressures.
