Clonoulty Rossmore GAA Club Grounds To Be Named After The Late Dillon Quirke

Clonoulty Rossmore GAA club are to honour the late Dillon Quirke by naming the club grounds in his memory. Plans are also underway to install a mural of the Clonoulty and Tipperary star at the club grounds – the President of the GAA Larry McCarthy will attend for the occasion planned for later this year.

Dillon Quirke collapsed and died of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome on the 5th of August 2022 in Semple Stadium Thurles. He was playing hurling for his club Clonoulty-Rossmore in a Tipperary championship match against Kilruane McDonaghs at the time.  Sudden Adult Death Syndrome (SADS) takes 100 young lives in Ireland every year.The Dillon Quirke Foundation is fundraising to provide a health screening in respect of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome for every GAA player over age 12. The Foundation is supported financially by a wide range of fundraising events and a Go Fund Me page as it sets a target of raising €1M. 

A Challenge Match between Tipperary and Kilkenny is set for  2pm on Sunday Feb 19th at FBD Semple stadium. Tickets to attend the match, a nonattendance ticket or a subscription to watch the match online are all available for purchase on the Foundation website. Full details can be found here
