Man (40s) Charged Following Collision On N24 Bansha-Tipp Road

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a two vehicle road traffic collision on the N24 – Cahir to Bansha Road, Co. Tipperary. The collision involved a car and a truck and occurred just before 8am this morning.

The male driver (80s) of the car and a female passenger (50s) were taken to South Tipperary General Hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be non life threatening.

The driver of the truck, a man aged in his 40s was arrested at the scene and taken to Tipperary Garda Station where he has been charged.

He appeared before Ennis district Court this afternoon, Saturday 4th February 2023.

An examination of the scene is currently underway by Forensic Collision Investigators.

The road is currently closed with vehicles being diverted via Cashel to Tipperary Town and onto Limerick.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward and any road users with video footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to them.
