Cahir Rd In Cashel Allocated €500K From Active Travel Scheme

Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has announced funding of €4.6M for Active Travel projects in County Tipperary.

The largest individual sum is €500,000 for the Cahir Road Active Travel scheme in Cashel – in addition projects in Ladyswell and on the Old Road in Cashel are allocated €98,400. 

A footpath and cycleway project in Roscrea on the R445 is allocated €480,000 while Ballylooby is allocated €150,000.

In total 37 projects have been funded in county Tipperary in addition to providing funds for 3 Local Transport Plans and the funding for staffing in the Active Travel unit.

The towns of Nenagh, Thurles and Clonmel are each allocated €118,000 to fund the creation of a Local Transport Plan.

The council is also allocated €330,000 to fund the costs of the Active Travel Staff.
