Minister for Disability, Anne Rabbitte TD officially opened the Moorehaven Day Service Centre in Cashel today. The service is located in the Shopping Centre (Tesco) complex and operates Monday to Friday focusing on school leavers.
Minister Rabbitte also announced that she will be providing €500,000 to Moorehaven for the full operation of respite services in County Tipperary, which will cover both the north and south of the county. The centre has been engaging with the Minister since 2021 seeking funding for residential respite services for the county.
The Minister was hosted in Tipperary by her Fianna Fáil colleague, Jackie Cahill TD and the Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council, Cllr Roger Kennedy.
Cllr Roger Kennedy, Cathaoirleach of Tipperary County Council, and also a board member at Moorehaven, describes the funding “as a major boost for the service users, their families and all in Moorehaven – adding that the building for respite service is already available.”
