Tipperary Chamber of Commerce is withdrawing it’s involvement from the 4 day music festival event planned for Tipperary town in May.

The latest development arose as it emerged that some members of the Festival Committee did not wish to comply with the conditions of the Tipperary county council Festival Grant Scheme and will not be submitting an application for support.

The four day music event will go ahead in May as a standalone commercial event in the carpark of a local discount Supermarket.

The Festival Grants Scheme offers funding ranging from €2,500 to €30,000 to support events planned for anytime in 2023 but has a closing date of noon on January 31st.

A new group may emerge to develop a festival programme for Tipperary town in 2023 and submit a funding application before the deadline – for a variety of reasons no festival has been held since 2018 and this year presents an opportunity to reimagine the format for Tipperary town.
