Two Tipperary natives are included in the shortlisted nominations for the British Academy Film Awards – the BAFTAs. The awards will be presented in February as the film industry awards seasons leads to the Oscars in March.

Irish special effects Oscar winner Richard Baneham is among the nominees for Special Visual Effects for his work on Avatar: The Way of Water.
The Northern Irish film An Irish Goodbye is shortlisted for Best British Short Film.
The anti-war drama All Quiet on the Western Front leads the nominations with 14.
