Businesses across county Tipperary are being encouraged to avail of the Temporary Business Energy Support Scheme announced in the budget.

Although the scheme was announced in September and opened for applications on November 26th last, only 10,773 businesses nationwide have registered and as of January 12th only 4,392 claims had been approved resulting in €9M being paid to these businesses to assist with energy costs.

Under the Scheme, qualifying businesses can claim for 40% of the increase in their Energy Bills.

The Scheme is operated by the Revenue service.

County Tipperary Chamber is encouraging business across the county to avail of the scheme as soon as possible.

The County Tipperary Chamber is also inviting members to attend their President’s Lunch to be held in the Cahir House Hotel on February 23rd when Minister of Finance Michael McGrath will be the special guest.
