The Community Services Centre in Tipperary Town working in partnership with Tipperary ETB has installed a new defibrillator in the premises.
The funding for the lifesaving equipment was secured by Tipperary ETB – a budget measure coming into effect on January first means that such equipment is now zero rated for VAT.
A training programme in respect of using the defibrillator is to be rolled out for personnel from all of the organisations using the building on St Michael’s Street.
Centre Manager Brian English also intends to create an updated list of all of the locations for defibrillators in the Tipperary town area where over 40 defibrillators are currently in place including at the Garda Station, Schools, Doctors Surgeries, Sports Facilities, the Excel Centre and at the Moorehaven and Irish Wheelchair Association facilities.
