Drivers are advised to use caution on roads today due to heavy overnight rainfall and a Status Yellow Wind Warning in effect for all of Ireland from 5am this morning – the warning is in place until 2am tomorrow morning.
Westerly winds will be very strong and gusty today, in the west at first, progressing eastwards in the afternoon, reaching storm force at coastal areas of the northwest.
Downed trees, power outages and travel disruption are possible due to the impact of the wind.
