The Banshees of Inisherin won three Golden Globe awards last night – the film won Best Picture – Musical or Comedy, Best Actor for Colin Farrell and Best Screenplay for writer-director Martin McDonagh. The dark comedy, which was filmed on Inis Mór and Achill Island, had led the shortlist with eight nominations.
Both Farrell and McDonagh are previous Golden Globe winners and have promised to work together again. Thurles star Kerry Condon was also nominated for her role in the film but was not honoured with an award on this occasion.
