A campaign has started locally to have the road between Rossadrehid and the Muskry Trailhead and Water Treatment Plant resurfaced.
Local residents say the road has not been resurfaced since 1978. The road, Local Route 8321, covers a distance of 1.8km – residents have counted 72 potholes on the route.
The campaign is led by local woman Catriona Kenny who says it is vital for local people and also important for tourists to the area.
Ms Kenny is highlighting damage to cars and says the public are sometimes too busy in their daily lives to organise campaigns or make complaints to get issues addressed.
Today Cllr Anne Marie Ryan visited the road on Ms Kenny’s invitation and is to investigate if funding can be found for the road resurfacing
