Government Announces Total Funding Of €5.25 Million For 65 Organisations To Support Victims Of Crime

Funding totalling €5.25 million for more than 65 organisations to support victims of crime has been announced by the Government today. The allocations range from €3,000 to €740,000.

Cuan Saor Women’s Refuge in Clonmel receives €40,000 while Ascend Domestic Abuse service operating in North Tipperary is allocated €21,000. 

The funding supports national and larger organisations such as Women’s Aid, Ruhama, and One in Four, local organisations across the country working with victims such as Cuan Saor Clonmel, general victims support organisations including Victim Support at Court and specialist organisations including Migrant Rights Centre and Dignity 4 Patients.

The largest sum of €740,000 went to Ruhuma – a Dublin-based organisation that works on a national level with women affected by prostitution and other forms of commercial sexual exploitation.

Victims Support at Court is to receive €203,000 while Men’s Aid is allocated €70,000.
