Farmers in Tipperary are encouraged to attend a Climate summit on January 10th in Thomond Park, Limerick. The major event is a daytime event to run between 11am and 4pm. Farmers interested in attending should email [email protected] or contact their local branch. The conference will hear presentations from Teagasc, An Bord Bia, Academics in Food Enterprise and Climatology, and Economist Ciaran Fitzgerald and an address by Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue. Farming bodies are concerned about the unprecedented level of regulatory change facing the sector in respect of emissions, fertiliser and medicine use and regulations in respect of CAP schemes.
