A Boil Before Use notice remains in place for the Fethard Public Water Supply impacting over 6,700 customers.  Work is ongoing to rectify the issues at the Fethard Regional Public Water Supply water treatment plant with a view to lifting the notice as quickly and as safely as possible according to Uisce Eireann.  Sampling of the water is now underway and a number of satisfactory water samples are required to confirm that the drinking water is compliant with the EU drinking water regulations. HSE approval is also required for the Boil Before Use notice to be lifted

In the meantime, all customers on the Fethard public supply are advised to boil their water before use until further notice – the notice applies to areas surrounding Fethard but not the town itself. The Boil Before Use notice relates to customers in Cloneen, Mullinahone, Drangan, Killenaule, Moyglass, Ballinure, Ballynonty, Glengoole, Gortnahoe and surrounding areas. The notice was issued on December 24th 2022.
