The Boil Before Use Notice on the Horse and Jockey Public Water Supply(PWS) is to be lifted with immediate effect.

The notice was first issued on September 3rd due to high levels of turbidity/suspended particles in the water that impacted the disinfection process.

Remedial works on the Horse and Jockey PWS have now been completed and monitoring results as to the water quality are satisfactory.

The HSE has approved the lifting of the Boil Before Use Notice. Approximately 650 people in the Horse and Jockey, Forgestown, Moycarkey, Curraheen, Ballymurreen, Drumgower, Newtown and surrounding areas were impacted.

All consumers on the Horse and Jockey Public Water Supply can now resume normal use of the water supply for drinking, food preparation and brushing teeth.

Irish Water and the Local Authority and the Health Service Executive Water Liaison Group will continue to meet and will review ongoing process control, monitoring and testing of the drinking water supply.

The Irish Water Customer Contact Centre (1800 278 278) is available to answer customer queries in relation to this matter. Further information is also available on www.water.ie.
