Developer Blame Irish Water For Slow Progress On Tipp Town Housing Development

Majestic Property Developers are blaming Irish Water for slow progress on a new housing development in Tipperary town.

The project is to include 96 A rated houses, a nursing home and an apartment complex for senior citizens.

Work has commenced on the first 6 houses but developer Pramukh Gogineni says Irish Water has not finalised his application submitted in February 2022.

The developer says since then he has dealt with approximately 25 different personnel in the company – including the CEO –  to no avail.

The cost of the connection needs to be established as well as the certainty of the service as this is one of the planning conditions.

Mr Gogineni says two housing developments in Cashel are also delayed for the same reason.

Securing an operator for the nursing home is being actively pursued and Mr Gogineni is optimistic but remains aware of operating cost difficulties in the sector at present.

The developer says the recent bad weather is also disrupting work at the site on the Dundrum Road but that his intention is to finalise the first tranche of 20 houses as soon as possible subject to the Irish Water connection.

Mr Gogineni praised officials and councillors in Tipperary County Council for their assistance with the project to date.

Irish Water have been contacted for comment on this situation.
