Tipperary Library Services have confirmed that the My Open Library Service is currently taking names for induction training in respect of Tipperary Town, Roscrea, and Carrick on Suir libraries. Earlier this year funding of €72,270 for Cashel Library to enable the service to be provided there in the near future. The libraries will now be able to allow members to avail of self-service library services between the hours of 8am and 10pm, seven days per week. At present the service is available in Nenagh Library.
The service allows library users over the age of 18 to access the library outside of normal hours using a code. Extensive investment in technology has been provided this year for the service. The intention is to make the library more accessible to all users especially to those that are working.
