Tipp Cahir Cashel MD Council reports a strong interest in the Tipperary Town Streetscape Enhancement Measure for 2022.
A total of 44 Expressions of Interest for the Scheme were submitted by owners or leaseholders situated in the designated area which is restricted to Main Street and Bank Place Tipperary town.
These are now being processed and all decisions should be issued before Christmas.
The works can be in a number of areas such as painting, improved window displays, improved signage, additional planting – the aim is to improve the appearance of the building.
A maximum grant of €8,000 per property is available.
Applicants are required to have the works completed and the grants claimed by July 31st 2023.
This is the first year of the Scheme delivered as a new strand in the Town and Village Renewal Programme.
One town in each county was nominated for a fund of €100,000 and Tipperary town is the nominated town for county Tipperary.
It is hoped that Scheme will continue in the future allowing more towns to be nominated by Tipperary County Council.
