Parents in Tipperary are being urged to avail of the free nasal spray flu vaccine for their children.
The Public Health MidWest says while most children who get the flu have mild symptoms, some children can be very sick.
In particular, children with chronic health conditions are at risk of serious complications from flu.
The local public health officials say that since the start of October, there’s been notification of nearly 40 cases of flu in the Mid-West region with two in every five cases have been in children.
The vaccine is free for children aged 2-17 and is available from your GP or pharmacy.
