Tipperary Town Marketing and Events group have compiled a major programme of events in the town in the run up to Christmas.
The voluntary group are not organising all of the events but will assist in promoting the events to bring vitality and footfall to the town.
The group are organising a retail promotion event with a €3,000 prize fund including weekends away in Cork, Glen of Aherlow and Clonmel and a giant chocolate Santa.
People can enter the competition by making a purchase in person in Tipperary town at participating stores.
The programme of events includes Christmas Lighting, Carol Services, Food and Craft Fair, Christmas Concert at Excel, performances by the Ryan’s Academy of Music, Tipperary Vintage Rally Tractor and Bike Run, Santa appearances, the Excel Pyjama Party and Remembrance events at the Market yard and The Plan.
The Group consists of Siobhan Hyland Ryan, Sharon O’Dwyer, William Kinnane, Anne Whelan, Anne Hadnett and Jacqueline O’Connor.
Stevie O’Donnell will contribute live coverage over the next few weeks. Parking in the town car parks will be free for December and there will also be two hours free parking on the streets in Tipperary Town.
