Members of the Planning Section of Tipperary County Council will be hosting a public drop-in event to inform the preparation the Draft Thurles Local Area Plan in The Source Library, Thurles today from 3-7pm.
The public are invited to attend and make a submission as to the priorities for the future development of the town.
The County Development adopted earlier this year forecasts that the population of Thurles will increase by 30% in the next 9 years to a figure of 10,322.
An Issues Paper has been produced to help inform submissions and is available on the council website.
Submissions or observations must be made in writing no later than 4.00pm on Monday, 5 December 2022.
The council are developing Local Area Plans for 4 towns at present – Roscrea, Nenagh and Clonmel in addition to Thurles.
There will be a drop in information session in Roscrea Library tomorrow between 3pm and 7pm with sessions to be held in Clonmel and Nenagh next week.
Each town will have it’s own plan which will run until 2030 and be used to guide planning and investment decisions. Full details are available on the council website.
