Approximately 21,000 double child benefit payments will be made this week to families in county Tipperary by the Department of Social Protection.
The Double Payment will be paid to support families with the Cost of Living.
Child Benefit is a monthly payment of €140 for each child.
The payment for November is being doubled to €280 for each child.
It is made to families in respect of all qualified children up to the age of 16 years and continues to be paid in respect of children until their 18th birthday if they are in full-time education or have a disability.
There are 20,911 child benefit recipients in the county.
Today’s payment follows the Autumn Double Payment last month, which supported 1.4 million pensioners, carers, people with disabilities and working families nationally as part of the Government response to the cost of living crisis.
Over the course of the next few weeks, other payments such as the €400 lump sum fuel allowance payment, the €200 payment for people living alone, the €500 payment for carers, the €500 support for people with disabilities and the €500 payment for those in receipt of the Working Family Payment will be distributed followed by the payment of the Christmas Double Bonus beginning on December 5th.
