Cashel Union Of Parishes Makes Appeal For Their Community Food Bank

511

Cashel Union of Parishes is appealing to the public to support it’s Community Food Bank. The Food Bank is managed by Rev Mike O’Meara based in St Mary’s Church Tipperary Town and offers support to anyone that needs it regardless of religious beliefs or none. Rev Mike has set up a network of collection points in Tipperary Town including – St Mary’s Church every Friday from 1pm – 2pm and the Council office on Rosanna Road, Tipperary during office hours. In addition, Rev Mike is asking for businesses in the town to act as a donation point to gather non-perishable food supplies. Cash Donations can also be accepted. The Community Food Bank is intended as an emergency support for anyone finding themselves unable to purchase food or fuel or short of cash for an essential item in any given week. It is not able to operate at a scale of supporting the same people consistently every week. In such cases the advice is that a person contacts the Community Welfare Officer or Knockanrawley Resource Centre who operate a weekly food support service. Rev Mike can be contacted at 086 7218 748.
