Gardaí are urging drivers to slow down and arrive alive.
It follows speed checks on the M7 where speeds ranging from 143km/h to 173km/h during the week.
Templemore Roads Policing Unit says even with heavy rain and a lot of surface water, many failed to slow down.
Fixed Charged Penalty Notices issued.
